Nick Nolte found himself under fire on Tuesday and this time the actor wasn’t on the film set. The blaze broke out yesterday morning in Nick Nolte’s Malibu, California, home and forced the “Under Fire” star to break through a window so as to escape the flames.

The 67-year-old actor suffered smoke inhalation and minor scrapes while he was trying to jump out the window, but his condition was not serious and there was no need for him to be hospitalized, said Los Angeles County fire Inspector Sam Padilla, as reported by the Associated Press. He added that the actor’s private doctor would treat him for the injuries.

A Tuesday broadcast and the nerve-rattling Wall Street freefall added up to a larger crowd watching the contentious second debate between presidential candidates John McCain and Barack Obama than had watched the first, according to early results from Nielsen and some of the participating networks.

More than 42 percent of local households watched the second presidential debate, according to stats from Nielsen Media, based on the country's top 55 local TV . That's many more households than the 35 percent that tuned in to the first debate in those markets.

Suresh Joachim, of Toronto, and Claudia Wavra, of Petersburg, Germany, claim to have broken the Guinness World Record for movie-watching, after seeing 57 films in 123 hours in a plastic glass house in Times Square.
A spokesman for the Guinness World Records has confirmed that it seems they have broken the record but it will take another couple of weeks before they can make it official.

The attempt began October 2 when eight challengers started watching "Iron Man." After 72 hours, only two remained. The last film that the finalists who were to become winners watched was "Thelma and Louise" until the end on 3:10 p.m. Tuesday.
